Frank & Geri Hof
In 1977 the Hof family built their home next door to the 114 Ave residence. They did not have a problem building next to a group home. Over the years, they have collected many stories about the “kids next door.” It was a very stable situation because the same clients lived in the group home for about fifteen years. About ten years ago, the nature of the house changed. The current residents have more disabilities than those who were originally there.
The situation was very good for the Hof’s own children, who developed a special relationship with the group home children. The Hof children grew up with an open attitude and acceptance of people with differences.
