Daily Herald Tribune Articles... 1950's

What's happening: Parents of children with disabilities begin to organize for the first time in 1954. A two-room school operates out of the basement of the Masonic Lodge until 1959, when the Peace School of Hope is built on 96th Street, just north of 100th Avenue. Federal registration is approved and the organization, now a recognized charity, operates as “Grande Prairie and District Association for Retarded Children.”
